Penn State is officially playing USC in the Tournament of Roses this year. The last time we played USC was when they beat us in the kickoff classic of 2000 (but we beat them in the kickoff classic of 1996). Both teams have only played each other 8 times, so this game will be historical. Both teams have very respectable coaches and are known as powerhouses in the history of football. PSU considers their most famous cheer, "We are Penn State!", while Trojans shout a similar, "We are SC!" Both schools coin the term, "Fight on" as well. Pete Carroll is excited to play against the great Joe Pa. USC free safety Taylor Mays said, "I want to meet coach Paterno. I'm going to look for him to shake his hand. It's cool to play Penn State and Joe Paterno. With all the history of both schools, it's a classic matchup."
Who will be the victor of this game? I'll let you be the judge. Here are some things to keep in mind:
-Penn State beat Oregon State 45-14 at home.
- Oregon State beat USC 27-21 at home.
- USC beat Ohio State 35-3 at home.
- Penn State beat Ohio State 13-6 away.
- Both are good defensive teams.
This should be fun game to watch. I'll be in Pasadena with my blue and white peoples if I'm fortunate enough to snag a ticket.
